Student Visa Integrity Act of 2025

This bill would prohibit citizens from adversary nations like China and Russia from studying at U.S. institutions, bar students from other countries of concern from sensitive fields like nuclear science and aviation, and increase criminal penalties for visa fraud. It also ends the long-standing "duration of status" policy, replacing it with a definite period of stay not to exceed four years, while also restricting students from changing their major and limiting the number of online classes that can count toward a full course of study. For institutions, the bill mandates accreditation, requires disclosure of any financial ties to the Chinese government, and directs the implementation of a modernized "SEVIS II" tracking system to create a more stringent regulatory environment for students, schools, and employers.
