Enhancing Southbound Inspections to Combat Cartels Act

This bill--

  • Authorizes CBP to purchase non-intrusive imaging systems and deploy them along the southern border. 
  • Requires ICE to hire 100 HSI agents to investigate firearms and currency smuggling and 100 HSI agents to investigate narcotics and human smuggling at the border. 
  • Requires by 2027, no fewer than 10 percent of traffic is searched before departing the United States.
