H.R. 9479: Remigration Act

Remigration Act

This bill:

• Provides for automatic denaturalization if an alien commits certain fraud offenses and other crimes;
• Defines "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" in the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment to require at least one parent of a child to be a citizen, LPR, or an alien with lawful status performing active service in the armed forces;
• Establishes an Asylum and Refugee task force to review grants of asylum, refugee status, and adjustment of status during the Biden Administration;
• Revokes the lawful permanent resident status of any alien who has received any means-tested public benefits during the 5-year period preceding the date of enactment; and
• Revokes any nonimmigrant visa for an alien immediately upon conviction of serious criminal offenses.
