Enhancing Southbound Inspections to Combat Cartels Act

This bill:

  • Authorizes purchase of up to 50 additional non-intrusive imaging systems.
  • Requires the hiring of not fewer than 100 Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents, primarily to investigate currency and firearm smuggling at the border.
  • Requires the hiring of not fewer than 100 HSI special agents to human and narcotics smuggling at the border.
