Sami’s Law

This bill prohibits transportation network companies from contracting or partnering with drivers who are not U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, or aliens granted employment authorization by the Department of Homeland Security, and requires companies to verify the immigration and employment authorization status of prospective drivers and continuously monitor their immigration status. "Verification" is simply the I-9 process, not E-Verify.

Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-NY-3) (Oct. 22, 2026)
